Cowboys Casino
A downtown Calgary gaming floor with a genuine nightlife programme, beside the Stampede grounds — no rooms of its own.

South Calgary's stay-and-play option: 108 rooms attached to a modest gaming floor, a live music room and easy highway access.
Deerfoot Inn & Casino is an unpretentious, well-run property on the south side of Calgary, immediately off the Deerfoot Trail. It pairs a 108-room hotel with a 30,000-square-foot gaming floor, a country and rock music venue and a conference centre — the classic Alberta roadside inn formula, executed better than most.
It will not compete with River Cree on scale or with Parq on polish, and it does not try. What it offers is a genuine casino hotel at modest prices, 20 minutes from downtown Calgary and 25 from the airport, with free parking and a bed a short walk from the floor.
Alberta's 18+ gaming age applies. For visitors driving to or from the Rockies, it is a sensible overnight that happens to include a licensed gaming floor.

Roughly 600 slot machines cover the floor at penny through to higher denominations, including a small high-limit slot area. The selection is adequate and reasonably current; this is a neighbourhood floor rather than a destination one.
About 20 table games cover blackjack, roulette, baccarat and a couple of card games, with low minimums that make it a comfortable place for newer players. Poker runs occasionally rather than as a standing room. A sports lounge with screens covers major fixtures.
Service on the floor is notably friendly and unhurried, which regulars cite more often than any specific game.
Figures are editorial estimates from publicly available information and change over time. Our casino games guide explains each game in detail.

The 108 rooms are straightforward, clean and comfortable — a good three-star standard with better-than-average soundproofing given the highway location. Suites are available and reasonably priced.
The property includes an indoor pool, fitness room, conference and banquet space, and a large free parking lot with room for trucks and trailers. Everything connects indoors.

A steakhouse, a pub and casual outlets, all built around Alberta beef and generous portions at fair prices. Nothing ambitious, nothing to complain about. Chain restaurants and the Deerfoot retail area are minutes away.

A live music room programmes country, rock and tribute acts most weekends, with a loyal south-Calgary following, plus banquet and event space that hosts everything from weddings to trade shows. It is a busier calendar than the property's size suggests.
Hours, dress standards and parking arrangements change seasonally. Confirm with the property before travelling.
Modest and honest. Deerfoot Inn & Casino is the practical choice for a night in south Calgary with a gaming floor downstairs, and good value for it. Look to River Cree if you want an Alberta resort rather than an inn.
